ŪNIKA SWIM x Rethink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

ŪNIKA SWIM x Rethink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, Ūnika Swim has launched the “as ū are” campaign in collaboration with Rethink Breast Cancer. The goal of this campaign is to help educate, empower and advocate for those affected by the disease worldwide.

Through a series of co-branded videos, the campaign highlights Payal, Erin and Alanna’s stories of battling breast cancer while we guide them through ŪNIKA’s custom swimwear process. We aim to help arm survivors with the knowledge of what swimwear options do exist post-op and make these women feel confident and strong.

Betsy Campos, founder of ŪNIKA Swim, says:

“Rethink has been helping Canadian women with breast cancer for almost 20 years and with their bold campaigns, have been extremely successful in improving awareness about the disease amongst younger women. The partnership with Rethink ties in directly with our consumer base and is a natural extension of Ūnika’s mission to help women feel confident in their own unique body shape. Our hope is that through this campaign we will be able to not only provide women with the proper information necessary for breast care but to help restore a sense of self to cancer survivors.”

For the duration of October, Ūnika will be donating 10% of all sales to Rethink and provide 50% off of custom swimwear fittings for women who have had or are currently battling breast cancer.

MJ DeCoteau, Founder and Executive Director of Rethink Breast Cancer, says:

“We are so excited to have Ūnika Swim join us for this year's Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a fun collaboration of custom swimwear and pink masks. Partners like ŪNIKA make our education, support and advocacy possible. We are proud and grateful they are joining our efforts to help young women affected by breast cancer live better and live longer.”

Founded in 2001 by MJ DeCoteau, who at 22 lost her mother to breast cancer, Rethink works to empower young people worldwide who are concerned about and affected by breast cancer, through innovative education, support and advocacy. Rethink is the first ever Canadian charity to bring bold, relevant awareness to the 40s and under crowd; foster a new generation of young and influential breast cancer supporters; infuse sass and style into the cause; and, most importantly, respond to the unique needs of young women going through it. Rethink reports that about 1 in 9 women can expect to develop breast cancer over the course of their lifetime.
